The March 2017 human rights report from Abu Dis (attached here) is a depressing read – We started collecting monthly reports over ten years ago, and it is terrible to see the on-going catalogue of human rights violations every month.
This month, the effects of the occupation on the school children seem particularly worrying. The young people are right in the face of the military on their way to school. In March, all secondary-age boys from Abu Dis schools were forced to miss four days of schooling because of Israeli army tear gas, and the report tells of boys being hurt outside the school on their way to school, from shooting by the army.
